Best of Bucks Co – Brunch
Brunch – that wonderful combination of breakfast and lunch is one of my favorite food experiences. What a way to start the day. I think Wikipedia does a great description of the meal – “usually (brunch) involves standard breakfast foods such as eggs, sausages, bacon, ham, fruits, pastries, pancakes, and the like. However, it can include almost any other type of food served throughout the day. Buffets may have quiche, large roasts of meat or poultry, cold seafood like shrimp and smoked fish, salads, soups, vegetable dishes, many types of breadstuffs, and desserts of all sorts.” I am getting hungrey just reading the description.

I would highly recommend Slate Bleu in Doylestown. The menu is a la carte, with a strong french influence. Some of the highlights are pain perdu with carmelized bananas, any one of their omlettes, (I am partial to their simple omlette with ham and gruyere), their red wine poached eggs and their buckwheat crepes. You also have some more lunch oriented items including their wonderful mussels soup flavored with saffron.
And you have dessert to consider as well. Either a wonderful cheese course, or their honey creme brulle are bother wonderful options to end the meal.
